Masai girafee, also known as Killimanjaro giraffe are one of 9 subspecies. You can tell the difference in sexes by the ossicones on the head. Males are usually bald and knobby, females have tufts of hair.

Being the tallest terrestrial animal means less competition for food. With a tongue that can be 18 inches long they are very efficient at stripping leaves, even from thorny acacia trees (one of their favorites)

Tarangire National Park, is 1,100 square miles and is named after the perennial river that flows through it. It is home to the largest population of elephants in northern Africa. The Bush elephant is the larger of the two subspecies on the African continent.
